Featuring Anton Batagov, Alexei Lubimov, Polina Osetinskaya
The audience will find out the program of the concert just near
the very end of it, right after applause, and the reason is not
playing with the public or checking its polymathy. Maestro
Teodor Currentzis, art director of the Festival, believes that the 78
stereotypes that arise while a musical composition is being
announced prevent the public from hearing music’s real nature.
Many believe that they love Mozart and Tchaikovsky and do not
like Schoenberg and Messiaen, but what if they do not know
who wrote the music they are listening to at the moment? Three
prominent pianists of our time, Anton Batagov, Alexei Lubimov,
and Polina Osetinskaya, are renowned for their unexpected
and broadest repertoire searches. At the Piano-Gala night they
share their beloved compositions with the audience, and the
public is welcomed to follow it with their hearts and not minds.
